Pyzel Surfboards

Specifications

Length Range 5'9" - 7'0"
Volume Range 27.6 - 48.9 L
Fin Setup Thruster, Quad, or Five fin
The Ghost XL is a wider, thicker version of Pyzel's Ghost model, built for riding in bigger surf. It shares the Ghost's outline, with the wide point pushed slightly forward of center, a kept-down nose, and a slightly pulled-in tail. Thickness is pushed forward to aid paddling and wave entry, while the tail and rails are thinned out for control at speed and through barrels. Rocker is medium/low through the front half for easy paddling and speed, with more curve through the tail for turning control. The bottom features a single concave running the length of the board with a double concave set inside it, aimed at generating speed and lift. It is designed to be ridden as a thruster, quad, or five-fin setup, in surf ranging from about 2 to 12 feet. The Ghost design was ridden by John John Florence to his 2017 World Title, and Pyzel recommends ordering the Ghost XL longer, wider, and thicker than a standard everyday shortboard.
